Frontierland: Introduction

 


OVERVIEW AND BACKSTORY:

A long time ago, there was a traveler by the name of Percival P. Pride, a member of the Society of Explorers and Adventurers. He was a person who came to America to find out what its defining thing was. It started out in the 1850s Southwest territories, where he came to the town of Thunder Springs. The 20-year old man was intrigued by the mining of gold in the region. However, when gold ran out and the area was said to be cursed, he moved out into the forest.


In the woodlands of the nation, he discovered a group of bears who enjoyed western and country music. With this, Pride saw that there was more to America than riches. He began to study its music, nature, and history, becoming intrigued by it all.


His biggest break, however, came when he was an old man. In 1927, he was drawn to New Orleans by its rich culture and diversity. When he visited the city, he praised its authenticity and noted how America was much more impressive than he thought. Even though he died shortly after his visit, his notes are still here today. Using these notes, guests will travel across old America to discover its greatness, seeing the wonders as Pride once did.

Marine Life Institute: Introduction

OVERVIEW: On the American west coast is the newest facility of the Marine Life Institute. Here, guests are invited to come and take part in the Institute’s newest projects, where guests will help them discover more about the marine life of the world. Here, they are presented with three separate programs. In their SeaRider program, guests will shrink down to the size of a fish and explore the ocean. In their Marine World program, guests will learn more about the life inhabiting the world’s oceans. Finally, in their Turtle Talk program, guests will interview a voluntary sea turtle and learn about his world, while he learns about their world too. This may be a smaller area compared to the rest of the park, but it is still worth seeing. Here, guests can even spot some sea lions down by the bay. (Possibly Fluke and Rudder from Finding Dory. ) Other notable sights include a lighthouse, some seagulls who say “MINE!”, and a boat, which is parked near a pier sticking out of the base.

They may also hear a jazz band play from time to time, depending on when they come. Here, they can have beignets, gumbo, as well as some American cuisine. Don’t forget to order the mouth-watering Mardi Gras cake for dessert!
