African Port: Introduction


OVERVIEW:

In the Eastern corner of Africa is a village where a river runs through. Here, the people of the town receive several boats, from explorers to merchants. In a way, it’s become an important place for culture, trade, and export.


This town, inspired by Kenya and Tanzania, is a look at the cultures of this part of Africa. Here, guests will see a mix of colonial and traditional buildings all around. They will see signs in English, as well as some writings in Swahili all around.


There are two parts of the village. On the right side is the Tanzanian-inspired area. Dominated by the park’s icon, Mount Kilimanjaro, this area is home to a thrilling coaster through the mountain. On the left side is a Kenyan area, complete with a rapid ride through the jungle as well as a Lion King show.


Although there are no live animals here, there are several references to them. Audio-Animatronic animals can even be spotted in certain places.

Marine Life Institute: Introduction

OVERVIEW: On the American west coast is the newest facility of the Marine Life Institute. Here, guests are invited to come and take part in the Institute’s newest projects, where guests will help them discover more about the marine life of the world. Here, they are presented with three separate programs. In their SeaRider program, guests will shrink down to the size of a fish and explore the ocean. In their Marine World program, guests will learn more about the life inhabiting the world’s oceans. Finally, in their Turtle Talk program, guests will interview a voluntary sea turtle and learn about his world, while he learns about their world too. This may be a smaller area compared to the rest of the park, but it is still worth seeing. Here, guests can even spot some sea lions down by the bay. (Possibly Fluke and Rudder from Finding Dory. ) Other notable sights include a lighthouse, some seagulls who say “MINE!”, and a boat, which is parked near a pier sticking out of the base.

They may also hear a jazz band play from time to time, depending on when they come.
